Record spending continues: Additional appropriation coming for the Palace budget
The Presidential budget has reached record spending in 7 months. An additional appropriation will be added to the budget for Erdoğan's salary. The Palace's daily expenditure has exceeded 68 million TL.

While a budget of 16.9 billion liras was allocated to the Presidency for 2025, it spent a total of 14.3 billion liras in the first 7 months of this year. While the daily expenditure amount has risen to 68 million 411 thousand liras, this amount corresponds only to the total of the palace and secret service expenses in the budget.
These expenditures by the Presidency continue to be discussed in a remarkable way in the public eye. The expenditure made during this period corresponds to a budget usage of approximately 1.5 million TL per hour, with 68.4 million TL per day.
SECRET SERVICE APPROPRIATION AND DISCRETIONARY FUND
An important item in the Presidency budget is the discretionary fund, known as the 'secret service' appropriation, which belongs solely to the use of President Erdoğan. 6 billion 808 million liras were spent from this appropriation for 2025. The highest expenditure was made in April with 1.6 billion liras.
The expenditures made from the discretionary fund item in the Presidency budget correspond to a daily average of 1 million 351 thousand TL.
President Erdoğan's salary was determined as 5 percent more than the Speaker of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey's salary with the omnibus law enacted in March. In line with this legal regulation, an appropriation of 2 million 856 thousand liras was placed in the budget for the President for this year. However, the salary payment made in July was determined as 280 thousand liras.
For this reason, it was reported that a new additional appropriation will be allocated for President Erdoğan's salary.
Approximately 1.7 billion liras of the 16.9 billion lira appropriation allocated to the Presidency in the 2025 budget will be spent on the salaries of the personnel working in the palace. In addition, 9.9 billion liras will be allocated for the purchase of goods and services. 255 million liras will be paid for the maintenance and repair works of the palace.
961 MILLION LIRA AID
In addition to the budget, a resource of 961 million 500 thousand liras was transferred from the Ministry of Treasury and Finance under the name of aid for digital offices, human resources, finance, and other activities within the Presidential palaces.
While the Presidency's 7-month expenditure corresponds to an average of 1 billion 80 million TL per month, a budget usage reaching 36 million TL per day and 1.5 million TL per hour draws attention.
