SONAR research poll... A major shock for the government! MHP faces threshold danger

The latest poll published by SONAR Research has drawn attention. In the poll, it was observed that the Republican People's Party (CHP) emerged as the leading party, while the Nationalist Movement Party (MHP) remained below the electoral threshold.

CHP LEADS AKP BY 6 PERCENT

According to the results of the poll, when asked, "If a general election were held today, which political party would you vote for?", 36.6 percent of participants answered CHP, while 30.4 percent answered AKP. Thus, the CHP managed to open a 6.2 percent gap over the AKP. Furthermore, it was observed that the AKP lost 0.9 percent of its votes in the last month, while the CHP increased its votes by 1.8 percent. With these results, it was noted that the gap between them increased from 3.5 percent to 6.2 percent.

MHP BELOW THE THRESHOLD

The support rate for the MHP has shown a serious decline over the last three months. The MHP's vote share, which was 8.3 percent in January, fell to 7.3 percent in February and to 6.7 percent in March. This development led to the party falling below the electoral threshold. The MHP experienced a 1.6 percent loss in support in just two months.

WHAT DO THE YOUTH THINK?

ORC Research's April 9 poll provided important data regarding the preferences of young voters. While 27.5 percent of young people between the ages of 17-29 preferred the CHP, the rate of those voting for the AKP was recorded at 20.6 percent. The gap between the CHP and the AKP was 6.9 percent. These results show that the CHP finds strong support among the youth.

DISCUSSIONS REGARDING IMAMOGLU

The poll also shed light on the discussions regarding Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ekrem Imamoglu. When participants were asked, "What do you think about the cancellation of Ekrem Imamoglu's diploma?", 51.3 percent stated that they thought the cancellation of his diploma was wrong. While 18.6 percent found this decision correct, 22.3 percent stated that they should wait for the judiciary's decision.

REMARKABLE RESULTS REGARDING TRUSTEES AND AUDITS

When asked whether they would approve of a trustee being appointed to Istanbul if Ekrem Imamoglu were to be convicted of a terror-related crime, 51.1 percent of participants opposed the trustee, while 33.4 percent approved of this decision. Additionally, when asked, "Are audits conducted on municipalities belonging to the government and the opposition in an equal and fair manner?", 68.9 percent of participants answered no and stated that the audits were conducted in a biased manner.
