Rumors of him joining the AKP: Şanlıurfa Metropolitan Mayor Gülpınar responds to the claims

President and AKP Chairman Recep Tayyip Erdoğan met with Şanlıurfa Metropolitan Mayor Kasım Gülpınar, who had previously left the New Welfare Party (Yeniden Refah Partisi).

THE MEETING WAS HELD BEHIND CLOSED DOORS

During the meeting, which was held behind closed doors, Gülpınar presented President Erdoğan with a calligraphy painting inscribed with the words, "There is no eternal, everlasting being or truth other than God."

THERE WAS TALK OF HIM JOINING THE AKP 

Mehmet Kasım Gülpınar, who previously served as an advisor to President Erdoğan, ran as a candidate for the New Welfare Party in the March 31 local elections and won the race. 

Following his announcement on September 2 that he had resigned from his party, there was speculation that Mehmet Kasım Gülpınar would join the AKP.

Mehmet Kasım Gülpınar, who continues to serve as the Mayor of Şanlıurfa Metropolitan Municipality as an independent, drew attention by decorating billboards with posters reading, "Mr. President, welcome to Şanlıurfa, the city of prophets," bearing his own signature, just days before Erdoğan's visit to the city for the 8th Ordinary Congress of the AKP Şanlıurfa Provincial Branch.

HE DENIED THE ALLEGATIONS  

Kasım Gülpınar, who has been rumored to be returning to the AKP, has made a notable statement.

Speaking to Sözcü, Gülpınar announced that he has received offers from many parties but will continue his path as an independent. Gülpınar stated that he is not considering joining the AKP.
