Three names had come up among loyalists: A pessimistic scenario from party staff for the post-Erdoğan era

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan will not be able to run again due to the three-term limit. However, it is possible to open the door for his candidacy through a constitutional amendment or an early election. Erdoğan had made a statement on this matter, saying, "I have no concern about being re-elected or running for office again."

However, in the recentperiod, it hasdrawn attention that pro-government columnists have been writing articles about potential successors to Erdoğan. Renowned writer Nuray Babacan penned the bombshell analyses she received from leading figuresof the party in her column today.The figures who spoketo Babacan stated that for the post-Erdoğan era,"Evenif Erdoğan were to point to someone for the periodafter him, the party would no longer have a chanceof survival."

The AKP heavyweights who spoke to Babacan provided a shocking analysis for the post-Erdoğan era. The analysis included the following remarks: "We have seen in the past that neither Demirel, nor Özal, nor Erbakan could continue after their time. It had no resonance in politics. They either turned into small parties or disappeared. After Erdoğan, the AKP will also have completed its lifespan." The writers argued that, at this point, the establishment of a new party is a possibility for the future of the AKP.

THREE NAMES CAME TO THE FORE AMONG PRO-GOVERNMENT CIRCLES

Among the names most frequently mentioned for the post-Erdoğan era are Bilal Erdoğan, Berat Albayrak, and Hakan Fidan. These three names have stood out among pro-government circles in recent days. However, according to Babacan, it is stated that these names have no chance, and that "this includes Erdoğan's relatives and family."

"THE AKP WILL END AFTER ERDOĞAN"

In her column, Babacan conveyed the following expressions regarding the post-Erdoğan era: "These are empty conversations. The President has no plan to leave his place to anyone, and he has repeated many times that he wants to run one more time. However, when that stage is reached, everyone knows that this is Erdoğan's party. We have seen the end of leader-centric parties. Even if Erdoğan were to point to someone for the period after him, the party would no longer have a chance of survival. The AKP will have completed its lifespan, and perhaps a new party will be established."

PresidentErdoğan was elected twice following the 2017 constitutional amendment.Due to the provisionin Article 101/2 of the Constitution stating that "A person may be elected Presidentat most twice," Erdoğanwill not be able to run for a third time. However, the path for Erdoğan's candidacy in the 2028 elections could be opened if Parliament decides to hold an early election. 

Chief Presidential Advisor Mehmet Uçum had stated that he advocates for opening the path for Erdoğan to run for the final time in 2028.
