The lawsuit filed with the request for the cancellation of the CHP's 38th Ordinary Congress held on November 4-5, 2023, and the 21st Extraordinary Congress held on April 6, 2025, has been adjourned to October 24.
Former CHP Chairman Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu is also included in the case file as a victim. The possibility of an "absolute nullity" ruling by the court has increased the political impact of the process.
CLAIMS OF A SURPRISE MEETING EMERGE
Türkiye Gazetesi claimed that CHP Chairman Özgür Özel and former Chairman Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu would hold a surprise meeting this week. The report suggested that the meeting could take place at the home of Ankara Deputy and Parliamentary Group Deputy Chairman Murat Emir.
Following the claims, Murat Emir made a statement, saying that the mention of his name and his home as the address for the meeting did not reflect the truth.
Emir stated, "In content appearing on some websites today, sourced from Türkiye Gazetesi, my name and my home have been mentioned as the address for a meeting where our Chairman Özgür Özel and our previous Chairman Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu will come together. This claim is completely baseless; no such planning exists."
FIRST STATEMENT FROM KILIÇDAROĞLU
Following this claim, which stirred political circles, Nefes columnist Aytunç Erkin asked Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu about the matter.
To the question "Will there be a meeting?", Kılıçdaroğlu replied, "These reports are not true."
Kılıçdaroğlu chose to remain silent when asked, "What would you do if a meeting proposal were to come?"
