Will the trial against the IMM be broadcast on TRT? Minister Tunç answers the curious question: 'If a consensus is reached...'

Minister of Justice Yılmaz Tunç answered questions from journalists regarding the agenda before the AKP Group Meeting.

Responding to a question about CHP Chairman Özgür Özel's request for the judicial process against the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) to be broadcast live on TRT, Tunç said that the decision belongs to the Parliament:

Stating, "If a consensus is reached, the decision rests with the TBMM," Tunç pointed out that such a broadcast would require a joint assessment by the judiciary, the media, and political party groups.

MHP Chairman Devlet Bahçeli had also supported the call, stating, "Since the public's right to follow this directly is being defended, we hope that this expectation will be evaluated reasonably."

Tunç was also asked about the meeting between the DEM Party's Imralı delegation and the prisoners, which had previously been postponed due to funerals for fallen soldiers.

The Minister of Justice stated that the meeting is planned to take place next week, but that a clear date and time have not yet been determined.

Minister of Justice Tunç also provided information regarding the investigation launched into certain content shared by "Grok," the artificial intelligence application owned by Elon Musk on the X (formerly Twitter) platform.

Tunç said, "An investigation has been launched by the Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor's Office. There are posts that violate personal rights. The fight against such content will continue within the framework of the law."
