Gökhan Günaydın’s statement on the fund crisis: We will announce new names linked to the AKP

Yeni Party Group Deputy Chairman Gökhan Günaydın has made new statements regarding the process discussed in the public eye as the “fund crisis.” Speaking at a press conference in Parliament, Günaydın said that beyond the resigned AKP Deputy Chairperson Fatma Betül Sayan Kaya, there are other individuals they allege were involved in the process.

Yeni Party Spokesperson Zeynel Emre had previously alleged that Fatma Betül Sayan Kaya and her husband, İlyas Kaya, engaged in manipulation through “Özata Denizcilik” shares, claiming that the couple generated over 2 billion TL in returns in 5 months through this method.

In his assessment during the press conference, Günaydın described the events as “a crisis far more comprehensive, far more politically involved, and far more destructive than the banker crisis of the early 1980s.” Arguing that the process is a “robbery” of at least 20 billion dollars, Günaydın said, “AKP elites took their money and fled, while the doors were locked on the citizens left inside.”

When asked if there was concrete information about other politicians following Fatma Betül Sayan Kaya’s resignation, Günaydın stated that first, it must be seen what will be done regarding Kaya in “criminal” and “economic” terms.

Günaydın also alleged that some transactions were carried out through individuals he described as “bagmen.” Arguing that who these individuals are connected to is known in the business world, Günaydın said, “The Yeni Party will share new information regarding this subject with the public every day.”

Stating that they will announce new names when the time comes, Günaydın said, “We are trying to present it with an undeniable clarity, as in the case of Fatma Betül Sayan Kaya. Let me state that we are also receiving information from people on the inside who are saying, ‘Enough is enough!’”

Günaydın also announced that after Özata Denizcilik, they would make a statement regarding Gündoğdu Tarım. Günaydın used the expressions, “We will clearly reveal how companies that cannot even be considered medium-sized were used here, how they were made tools for fraud, and their relationship with the AKP.”
