AKP Chairman and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan gave messages regarding the economy at the 10th Meeting of the Investment Advisory Council and touched upon the early election debates on the agenda.
"THERE ARE 3.5 YEARS AHEAD WITHOUT ELECTIONS"
Erdoğan used the following expressions in his speech:
"We see the early election debates brought to the agenda by the opposition to overshadow their own internal conflicts as beating the air. Turkey has 3.5 years ahead of it, each as valuable as gold, without elections."
Participating in the program 'Açıkça' (Clearly) hosted by Gökmen Karadağ on Halk TV, Future Party Founding Member Abdullah Güzeldülger responded to allegations that the Future and DEVA parties could form an alliance with the AKP regarding elections.
"You know the fundamental issue behind the Future and DEVA parties' departure from the AK Party. When Prime Minister Davutoğlu wanted to change the tender and zoning laws and said, 'I will introduce a political ethics law,' he was subjected to liquidation by the team known as the 'Pelican Gang,' which also included Süleyman Soylu and Binali Yıldırım. While the AK Party is in this state and still conducting politics with these codes, the contradiction between the actions taken by the group that claims to be in power as religious Muslims—such as corruption, abuse, waste, and ostentation—and the values they take as a reference is our fundamental breaking point. It is not possible for such a thing to happen without this situation being corrected and without us seeing a real will for change."
"IF THE AK PARTY ACCEPTS THESE, WE WILL TALK"
Güzeldülger gave the following answer to the question from program host Gökmen Karadağ: "Is it possible if you see such a will? Could Erdoğan and the AKP do such things that you would reach the point of saying, 'Yes, these are positive, we will support you for an early election with a short time remaining'?"
"Of course. If the AK Party says, 'Take the party, change the zoning law.' The moment the reasons that caused our break disappear—and of course, we also need to believe in this—if they say 'Take the party,' and if they surrender on every point such as zoning laws, transparency, and zoning corruption, then we would consider it, but this is of course not possible. However, we could only talk in such a situation."
