Gültekin Uysal announces presidential candidacy: 'Turkey needs to get back on its feet'

Democrat Party Chairman Gültekin Uysal announced on a television program that he will be his party's candidate in the presidential elections.

While announcing his candidacy, Uysal drew attention to the political, economic, and social problems Turkey is currently experiencing and emphasized the deep-rooted history of the Democrat Party. 

Stating that the country's need for democracy, the rule of law, and a fair governance approach is greater than ever, Uysal said, “Turkey needs to get back on its feet with the deep-rooted values represented by the Democrat Party. I am the Democrat Party's presidential candidate to realize these ideals in the 2028 elections.”
