Gürsel Tekin, who was appointed to the position of CHP İstanbul Provincial Chair by the Istanbul 45th Civil Court of First Instance, spoke at a new member participation ceremony held at the CHP İstanbul Provincial Headquarters.
It was stated that 200 people joined the party at the ceremony, and Tekin said that the party has grown stronger with the participation of new members. Thanking those who showed interest in the party, Tekin stated, "We are trying to be constructive, we are not trying to be destructive."
In his speech, Tekin also addressed the elected CHP İstanbul Provincial Chair, Özgür Çelik. Claiming that Çelik had challenged him and called for street protests, Tekin called for the debate to be moved to television screens.
My brother, while you were wandering from this party to that party in the past, I was in the squares, in the squares. I am a person who has traveled the squares of 81 provinces. Do not talk to me about squares. When our party remained below the threshold in 1999, we were shedding tears; none of you were there. If you are challenging me, I am in. Look, let's go on the television channels you have; I will ask only one question: Do you have a relationship with Aziz İhsan Aktaş or not?
In his message to the new members who joined the party, Tekin said, "For 7 weeks, there has been interest in our party. We will never let down all our friends who want to become members of our party and who want to become administrators tomorrow. We have opened a path in Turkey. This path is the path of purification."
