Harsh reaction from the Future Party to AKP's Özlem Zengin: 'What conscience does it fit to try to attribute it to Davutoğlu?'

When it was stated on a live Akit TV broadcast that "LGBT associations were permitted during the AK Party era," AKP's Özlem Zengin asked, "Did it happen during the Davutoğlu era?" Future Party Spokesperson Ufuk Karcı responded to Zengin's remarks.

AKP Group Deputy Chairperson Özlem Zengin was a guest on the Kırmızı Masa program on the reactionary Akit TV recently. The host asked Zengin, "Should LGBT associations be closed?" Zengin replied, "This is not a subject I am familiar with." Upon the host saying, "They were permitted during the AK Party era," she asked the question, "Did it happen during the Davutoğlu era?" After the host replied, "It happened in 2004," she responded, "Would these issues end if the associations were closed?"

A response to Zengin's statements on the program came from the Future Party.

Future Party Spokesperson Ufuk Karcı shared a clip of the program and stated the following:

"You didn't listen well at the time, Ms. Özlem! To attribute all the good deeds of a 23-year government to the President, and all the bad deeds to the former Prime Minister; furthermore, as can be seen in the broadcast, despite the moderator correcting you on a subject you have no knowledge about, trying to attribute every controversial issue directly to Mr. Ahmet Davutoğlu—just as you do not claim ownership of every issue—what conscience does this fit? We ask the conscientious masses of the AK Party!"
