Harsh words from Dervişoğlu to the People's Alliance: 'The internal front of betrayal...' Reaction to Bahçeli's 'founding leader' remark

İYİ Party Chairman Müsavat Dervişoğlu criticized the People's Alliance and the government's counter-terrorism policy with harsh words during his speech at his party's group meeting.

Dervişoğlu reacted to the term "founding leader" used by MHP Chairman Devlet Bahçeli for terrorist ringleader Abdullah Öcalan, stating, "We have reached a stage where the terrorist ringleader is called a 'founding leader.' The People's coalition, that is, the internal front of betrayal, is not with the Turkish nation in joy and sorrow, but with the terrorists," he said.

Dervişoğlu also criticized the government's Syria policy in harsh language, saying, "The terrorist Mazlum Kobani, whom Erdoğan once said to 'neutralize,' and the former terrorist codenamed Colani are now being treated like heads of state. The meetings held with US commanders and the agreements signed reveal the kind of danger Turkey is facing," he said.

Claiming that the government is turning a blind eye to the process laying the foundations of a "terror state" in Syria, Dervişoğlu said, "A terror state is being established during this phase. The government and its partners are supporting the process as if they were midwives," he stated.

REACTION TO HOLIDAY BONUS 

Making assessments regarding the economy, Dervişoğlu criticized the holiday bonus the government gives to retirees. "The holiday bonus they announced as good news is 4 thousand liras. According to its 2018 value, this figure should have been 17 thousand liras today," he said.

Stating that as the İYİ Party, they want the lowest retirement pension to be equalized with the minimum wage, Dervişoğlu announced that they have submitted a legislative proposal called the "Welfare Package" to the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM) in this context. Sharing the content of the proposal, Dervişoğlu said, "We want a 5 percent increase in all retirement pensions. The total of the two holiday bonuses should be equal to one minimum wage," he said.
