Harsh words from MHP to İmamoğlu: 'The audacity of the man who devastated the CHP...'

Detained Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Mayor and CHP presidential candidate Ekrem İmamoğlu spoke about MHP Chairman Devlet Bahçeli's assessments regarding the CHP congress process in an interview where he answered questions from T24 writer Murat Sabuncu.

In his response to the question posed to İmamoğlu, "The MHP Chairman is giving a roadmap to the CHP until the congress date. How do you respond to this?", he stated that the CHP's roadmap would be determined solely by party members.

"CHP'S ROADMAP IS DETERMINED BY PARTY MEMBERS"

İmamoğlu used the following expressions in his statement:

"The Republican People's Party's roadmap is determined only by our party members. The words spoken about our party by neither power centers nor those who act as trustees of the ruling power and obstruct our congress have any value. The law already mandates the congress. The law of the Republic of Turkey has been demolished. Those who have the courage will uphold the law of the state, will not refrain from speaking, and will not take a step back."

Continuing his statement, İmamoğlu spoke about the obstacles in front of Turkey's future and argued that the segments he criticized should take a clear stance.

RESPONSE FROM YILDIRAY ÇİÇEK WAS NOT DELAYED

Following İmamoğlu's statements, Yıldıray Çiçek, an advisor to MHP Chairman Devlet Bahçeli, responded to the CHP's presidential candidate with harsh expressions in his column in the Türkgün newspaper.

In his article, Çiçek criticized İmamoğlu's statements and made assessments regarding the current situation of the CHP.

"THE AUDACITY OF THE MAN WHO DEVASTATED THE CHP"

Yıldıray Çiçek used the following expressions in his article:

"This is exactly the audacity and shamelessness of the man who devastated the CHP for the sake of his own desires and ambitions, cast a shadow over the congress of Turkey's most deep-rooted party, and infested its municipalities with corruption and bribery. As someone who has wandered through forty doors to arrive at the CHP, he is being insolent toward those who want to contribute to social stability with common sense."

"IF THE CHP WANTS TO PURIFY ITSELF..."

In the continuation of his article, Çiçek also expressed his views on the future of the CHP and made the following assessments:

"If the CHP truly wants to purify itself, it must urgently cleanse this political virus from its body. If it wants to return to its founding philosophy and national line, there should be no place in the CHP for models like Ekrem İmamoğlu. If there is anyone deceived by his hypocritical, two-faced, and insincere Atatürk rhetoric, know that he is the greatest enemy of the CHP."

"THOSE WHO SEE HIM AS A SAVIOR CANNOT THINK HEALTHILY"

In the final part of his article, Çiçek criticized İmamoğlu's term as Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Mayor and used the following expressions:

"The minds of those who see such a man, who has not driven a single nail into Istanbul and played the vacationer game while on duty, as a savior cannot carry a healthy thought anyway."
