İYİ Party Chairman Müsavat Dervişoğlu made harsh criticisms regarding the statements made by former CHP Chairman Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu in court.

Dervişoğlu stated that Kılıçdaroğlu's remarks cast suspicion on a significant segment of society and directly targeted the Founding Chairwoman of the İYİ Party, Meral Akşener.

Responding to journalists' questions before the İYİ Party Provincial Chairmen Meeting held in Ankara, Dervişoğlu said the following regarding Kılıçdaroğlu's rhetoric:

'YOU SHOULD LOOK FOR THE FAULT AND RESPONSIBILITY IN YOURSELF'

"Mr. Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu's statements regarding the allegations that led to his trial are his own discretion. However, I would have expected him to speak more carefully about past periods. The past of the İYİ Party is as much ours as its present and future. I strongly reject and condemn his statements that cast suspicion on a significant segment of society and target our Founding Chairwoman Meral Akşener. I would also like to remind him that digging up old records will not benefit anyone. It is not conscientious to blame others when congresses and elections are lost. You should also look for the fault in yourself."

'ACCUSING OTHERS IS NOT DEFENDING ONESELF'

Dervişoğlu responded to Kılıçdaroğlu's accusations against the İYİ Party with these words:

"Since 2014, when the President began to be elected by popular vote, it is Mr. Kılıçdaroğlu himself who paved the way for Recep Tayyip Erdoğan to win elections by nominating Mr. Ekmeleddin İhsanoğlu, Muharrem İnce, and himself in 2023. We did not offer candidates to the Republican People's Party through bargaining. What we said yesterday is as important as what we say today. That is why I say, accusing others is not defending oneself, Mr. Kılıçdaroğlu."

WE WILL STAND BY THE LIEUTENANTS TO THE END

Regarding the events that took place at the Military Academy's Flag Handover Ceremony, Dervişoğlu said he does not believe the lieutenants committed a crime. "Everyone in Turkey needs morale. It is the government's duty to avoid steps that will lower morale. We will stand by our lieutenants to the end," he stated.
