He had been criticizing the party recently: CHP refers that mayor to disciplinary board with a request for permanent expulsion

Disciplinary proceedings have been initiated against Abdulvahap Göçer, the Republican People's Party (CHP) Mayor of the Yazıhan district in Malatya, following his criticisms of the party. After evaluating Göçer's statements, the CHP Headquarters sent him to the High Disciplinary Board (YDK) with a request for permanent expulsion, pending a final decision.

The process began after the meetings held in Malatya between CHP Deputy Chairmen Yaşar Tüzün and Ecevit Keleş and Göçer were documented in a report. The prepared report was submitted to the Central Executive Board (MYK), and the MYK unanimously decided to refer Göçer to the disciplinary board within the framework of this report.

This decision, taken following some past controversies, has turned eyes toward the dynamics within the party. Yazıhan Mayor Göçer had made criticisms directed at the provincial organization, as well as CHP Malatya Deputy Veli Ağbaba and Provincial Chairman Barış Yıldız, during his speech at the 39th Ordinary Provincial Congress of CHP Malatya. Tensions rose in the congress hall following these criticisms, and the ensuing argument quickly turned into a brawl.

In the days following the congress, Göçer's continued criticism of his party through statements given to pro-government media outlets caused discomfort among the party's top management. In light of all these developments, the CHP initiated the disciplinary process regarding Göçer and brought the request for permanent expulsion to the agenda.
