Mustafa Bozkurt, who resigned from the MHP following the murder of his nephew, Idealist Hearths President Sinan Ateş, has joined the IYI Party.
At the joining ceremony held at the Bursa Provincial Headquarters, Provincial Chair Mehmet Hasanoğlu pinned the party badge on Bozkurt.
"WE WILL WALK WITH YOU"
According to Sözcü, Bozkurt, who joined the IYI Party, said, "As a family, we are people who believe in loyalty. Since the day we lost my nephew, my spark of fire Sinan, only Ms. Meral Akşener and her organizations have stood by us, risking their lives both in the Grand National Assembly of Turkey and locally to shed light on this murder. We had decided within our family not to engage in politics. However, seeing that this was no longer possible at the point we have reached, we changed our decision. We will walk with you on the path we believe in."
HE HAD RESIGNED FROM THE MHP
Bozkurt, who was an MHP municipal council member for Yıldırım Municipality, had resigned from the MHP after Sinan Ateş was killed in an armed attack in Ankara.
Bozkurt had said, "We are no longer living in the old Turkey. We gave our years for a cause. Being in a society that does not stand behind us will harm us. With this thought, I resigned from the MHP. I will continue my service as an independent council member."
"WE WILL TELL WHAT WE KNOW"
Bozkurt had also said the following regarding the murder of his nephew Ateş:
"If some things are not explained, we will tell what we know. If the state's will-makers and law-enforcers do not know what the street sweeper knows, we will tell them. Actually, there is nothing secret. It is known openly. My brother Halil İbrahim Bozkurt may have said the words 'Our murderer is in the parliament' at an untimely moment, but actually, it is not untimely; we know these things. Those who have immunity today will become touchable like us tomorrow. Whoever has committed a crime in this country must now pay the price. The old Turkey is gone, the old Turkey is finished. Sinan Ateş is the cornerstone for ensuring that there are no more unsolved murders in this country."
