Left Party (Sol Parti) Defne mayoral candidate Serbay Mansuroğlu is a journalist. He is from Defne. He brought the Hatay earthquake to the agenda 13 years before it happened. He is one of those who observed and exposed the relationships between politics, religious sects, and commerce. He has been carrying out aid and solidarity efforts in Hatay since the first day of the earthquake.

I took part in the solidarity activities that developed in the region during the earthquake process. Making statements regarding his candidacy process and mentioning that they will take '10 Steps' to get Defne back on its feet, Mansuroğlu continued as follows:

"Problems related to housing can be solved by establishing a building cooperative.

All of Defne's roads are riddled with holes. If the General Directorate of Highways does not solve the infrastructure problem, we will go with construction machinery and do it ourselves when we take over the municipality.

We will solve the farmers' problems by supporting small producers. We established the Hatay Solidarity Cooperative even before taking over the municipality. If small producers are pushed out of the system, we will face a food crisis. It is possible for us to establish a producer market, a local farmers' market, in every neighborhood.

We can distribute free lunches in schools with products produced by small producers. We can establish facilities. A 'boğma' rakı facility is one of them; a vegetable market, an animal market, a cemetery—whatever makes a district a district is currently missing here.

When we manage the municipality with a public-oriented approach, we want to employ young people who have graduated from university and women.

It is very important to provide psychosocial support to people in the earthquake zone. The municipality can lead this."
