He said let our nation know, hear, and share! İmamoğlu draws attention to systematic torture and ill-treatment

Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu, in a statement made via his social media account, alleged that individuals he works with are being subjected to systematic torture and ill-treatment. Stating that there are practices under harsh conditions, especially targeting women, İmamoğlu called out, "Let our nation know, hear, and share this cruelty."

Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu made highly controversial allegations in a statement he released via social media. In his post, which began with the phrase, "My dear nation, this is a notice of torture," he stated that his colleagues are being systematically tortured.

THE TARGETED INDIVIDUALS: "THEY HAVE NO CRIMES, THEY ARE ONLY MY COLLEAGUES"

İmamoğlu argued that the individuals who were arrested have no crime other than working with him and serving Istanbul. He emphasized that there is no evidence against them and stated that these individuals are being subjected to systematic pressure. 

İmamoğlu used the following expressions in his post: 

My dear nation, this is a notice of torture. 

Systematic torture and ill-treatment are being inflicted upon prisoners who have no crime other than working with me and serving Istanbul, and against whom there is not the slightest bit of evidence. 

This cruelty is being inflicted especially on women. They are being sent to prisons far from their families, taken on 7-8 hour journeys in 1-square-meter cages while handcuffed, without food or water, forced to sleep on the floor, and kept in filthy cells. 

We know very well why these tortures are being carried out. Those who planned this conspiracy have no evidence in their hands; they want to turn everyone into "slanderers" through pressure, blackmail, threats, and torture. They think they can get out of the pit they have fallen into this way.

Let our whole nation know, hear, and share this cruelty. The curse of these women, these mothers, and these children is on the necks of those who commit this evil, those who are complicit, and everyone who does not speak out.
