Heartbreaking messages sent by youths in Kayseri from prison to their families
The messages written to their families by youths arrested following protests in Kayseri against the imprisonment of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu have been heartbreaking. The youths sent notes full of hope to their families from prison. CHP's Aşkın Genç described the arrests as unlawful.

In Kayseri, 4 out of 12 suspects detained following tensions between police and individuals protesting the imprisonment of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (İBB) Mayor and CHP Presidential Candidate Ekrem İmamoğlu were arrested by the Duty Magistrate Court to which they were referred.
THEY SENT MESSAGES TO THEIR FAMILIES
According to the report in Sözcü, CHP Kayseri Deputy Aşkın Genç visited the 4 students who were arrested and sent to Kayseri Prison. Following the visit, Genç shared the handwritten messages from the youths. The messages sent by the youths to their families were heartbreaking. The following expressions were included in the messages from the youths:
Mom, Dad, I am fine, do not worry about me. Sister, brother, I love you all very much. Greetings to you too, Eren.
Mom, there is no problem, I am fine. I love you very much. Take care of yourself. I will come soon.
We are very well, do not worry. I love you all very much. Kiss Tamsal for me.
"THE DECISIONS MADE ARE UNLAWFUL"
Making statements after the visit, CHP Deputy Aşkın Genç said that the students were exercising their constitutional rights and were arrested despite there being nothing in their files. Noting that the morale of the youths they met was high, Deputy Genç said the following:
Today is a holiday. We visited our children who were detained and arrested in Kayseri in recent days. They have been in Kayseri Prison for about 5 days. They were first detained and then arrested in Kayseri for exercising their most natural constitutional right, the right to protest.
When you look at it, there is nothing in their files, there is nothing that would require them to be detained. We met with our children; their morale is high, their concern is Turkey. These children are university students who love their country. The friends who arrested them also have children. I saw them in high spirits inside.
They want to do something for their country. The decisions made are extremely unlawful. I strongly condemn those who made this decision. I hope they will be released as soon as possible. They are confident in themselves. Our children are safe inside. Hopefully, we will live in a country where rights, law, and justice prevail.
