Çelik stated that AKP Chairman and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan announced the MYK members at the end of the meeting. Accordingly, the new MYK consists of the following names:

HIGH ADVISORY BOARD TO BE ANNOUNCED SOON

Çelik said that they will hold their first MYK meeting in the coming days and that all units will begin their duties as of tomorrow morning. Çelik also conveyed that President Erdoğan stated at the meeting that they would announce the High Advisory Board soon.

“WE ARE AGAINST ALL KINDS OF CIVILIAN LOSS OF LIFE”

Responding to journalists' questions after his statements, Çelik replied to a reporter's question regarding the clashes between Palestine and Israel as follows:

“Of course, we are following it closely. First, let me state as a matter of principle; we are against all kinds of civilian loss of life. In this respect, we express that violence that will lead to the loss of civilians, regardless of which side it comes from, should be avoided.

Second, we hope that a cycle of violence that will escalate the situation further and lead to more bloodshed will not emerge. Restraint is important here. Increasing violence mutually will have worse, more dire consequences.

We have always stated that there should be an environment of peace and tranquility based on negotiation and diplomacy in the region, and we continue to express this. We express our concern about the further escalation of violence. Therefore, we invite all parties to refrain from taking steps that will further escalate the violence. All our relevant units, especially our Ministry of Foreign Affairs, are following it. It is also under the close follow-up of our President. We, as a party, are also following it closely.”

“WE HAVE PREPARATIONS FOR EVACUATION”

Stating that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs' statement regarding the events was made for the safety of Turkish citizens living in the region, Çelik said, “If any information reaches us about a citizen who has been in a difficult situation in any way, the necessary initiatives will be taken immediately to bring them to Turkey.

All our units also know the regions where our citizens are located. For this reason, we have all kinds of preparations for such situations.

We also have preparations to rescue our citizens who are in conflict zones in some way. Furthermore, our citizens who are in such distress can reach our embassy to ensure they are contacted immediately,” he stated.

“OUR PRESIDENT'S WILL FOR DIPLOMACY IS CLEAR”

Regarding a possible phone call between Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and AKP Chairman and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, Çelik assessed, “I cannot say anything at this stage regarding our President's phone traffic or contact traffic.

These evaluations are, of course, continuing. But I want you to know that our President said in his congress speech today that he advises restraint to the parties and that violence should not be escalated.

The will for diplomacy in this direction is already very clear and explicit from our President. All units of our state are continuing their activities in this direction.”
