CHP's elected Chairman Özgür Özel continues his nationwide tours. After visiting Diyarbakır and Gaziantep, Özel moved on to Izmir, where he held various meetings.

Özel attended the opening of the new provincial headquarters in Izmir, which took place following the dissolution of the Izmir Provincial Organization by the Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu administration. The CHP leader was accompanied by Çağatay Güç, the former CHP İzmir Provincial Chairman who had been removed from office by the previous administration.

The absence of Izmir Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Cemil Tugay, who resigned from the CHP, from the opening drew attention. Local press asked the CHP leader, "Is there a problem between you and Izmir Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Cemil Tugay?"

Özel responded, "We have no problem with Mr. Cemil. We are in the CHP, he has now left. He will come when he establishes a party. We would not expect Cemil Tugay to come here today anyway. He says, 'I will come there when you establish a party or return to the party.' I respect his opinion, but I do not ask for such a thing from our other mayors."
