A new statement has come from Yerlikaya's camp regarding the claims that he would be the AKP's candidate for Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) Mayor.

According to a report by Mynet, sources from the Ministry of Interior, stating that Ali Yerlikaya's entire concentration is on 'the fight against organized crime syndicates, illegal betting, and unauthorized structures,' made the statement: "We absolutely have neither any work nor any thought of candidacy. We are focused on our duty."
A SIMILAR STATEMENT HAD BEEN MADE BEFORE
A high-level official from the Ministry of Interior had previously made a similar statement, noting that Yerlikaya had no plans for candidacy. Journalist İsmail Küçükkaya had reported that the official told him regarding Ali Yerlikaya's IMM candidacy: "The Minister has no IMM candidacy in his mind, his thoughts, his heart, or his planning in any way. It is even a zero probability."
