Hüseyin Baş's take on Mesut Özil: 'You couldn't stay in power even if you brought in Messi or Ronaldo, let alone Mesut'

Independent Turkey Party (BTP) Chairman Hüseyin Baş made significant remarks regarding the recent efforts of the AK Party. Speaking at the 9th Bursa Ordinary Provincial Congress, Baş said, "They are trying to project an image that they are very strong as the AK Party. In reality, we see this as proof of the final struggles of a ruling party that is melting away. You couldn't stay in power anymore even if you brought in Ronaldo or Messi today, let alone Mesut Özil."

The BTP Chairman stated that his party is welcomed with enthusiasm in every region they visit, emphasizing that the concept of institutionalism in politics is reflected in their party's work. "Wherever we go, whichever organization we meet with, we are welcomed there with enthusiasm, love, and affection. This is the greatest honor for us and a sign of institutionalism. We are present everywhere in Turkey," he said.

While criticizing the 8th Ordinary Grand Congress held by the AK Party today, Baş specifically pointed to former footballer Mesut Özil becoming a member of the Central Decision and Executive Board (MKYK). "When considering what is happening in politics, society, and human psychology, the ruling party is rapidly weakening, and such maneuvers are an indicator of this," he stated.

HARSH CRITICISM ON SOCIAL MEDIA

Hüseyin Baş also drew attention to the pressures on social media. "Everyone is being silenced due to the sanctions applied to politicians and journalists. Citizens are afraid even on social media; they hesitate to post tweets. We used to hesitate to 'like' posts, but now people are liking tweets from figures like Elon Musk just to express their opinions freely. I see this situation as oppression," he said.
