Imamoğlu calls for 'Başakşehir rally'! 'We are the guardians of Istanbul'
Speaking from Silivri Prison, CHP Presidential Candidate Ekrem İmamoğlu issued a call for the rally to be held in Başakşehir. Sending a message of unity against the Kanal Istanbul project, İmamoğlu said, 'We will not allow the plunder of Istanbul.'

CHP Presidential Candidate and Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu, who is being held at Silivri Prison, issued a call for the rally to be held in Başakşehir on Wednesday at 20:30.
In a post on his social media account, İmamoğlu made a reference to AKP Chairman and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, stating, "We are not on the side of those who look at Istanbul from a helicopter window as if it were their own property; we are on the side of those who look at it from the heart and eyes of the nation."

İmamoğlu said the following: "We are acting with a mindset that thinks of the needs of Istanbul's mothers, babies, children, youth, retirees, and farmers, produces solutions, and adopts the principle of being the guardian of Istanbul."
Drawing attention to the Kanal Istanbul Project, İmamoğlu stated, "I invite my fellow citizens of Istanbul to be the guardians of Istanbul in Başakşehir tomorrow at 20:30, to oppose the plunder of Istanbul and the betrayal project called Kanal Istanbul, and to stand as one. Istanbul is Yours! We are the Guardians of Istanbul!"
