Imamoglu gives a harsh response to montage allegations! 'This nation has already seen this movie'

Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ekrem Imamoglu, who is currently detained at Silivri Prison, responded harshly in a social media statement to allegations made against him in pro-government media. Stating, "Montage is the work you know best, it is your area of expertise," Imamoglu noted that attempts are being made to mislead the public with edited footage and baseless claims.

Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ekrem Imamoglu has issued a new statement regarding allegations raised in pro-government media as part of operations targeting the IMM.


The statement shared via Imamoglu's social media accounts is as follows:

“Whether it's a montage, or this, or that…” 

You remember these words, don't you? It wasn't long ago, just a few years back, that they lied to the nation's face again.

They invent a lie in the morning and believe their own lies by the evening. May God grant them wisdom; they are truly in a bad state.

Every day, I pray for the well-being of our country and the unity and solidarity of our nation; I also wish well for those who invent lies, whose minds work only for evil, plots, discord, and slander. 

They do not know this nation, they truly do not know it. They think this nation will fall for this fabricated order, for lies and deceit. They underestimate the nation's intelligence and think it cannot understand this setup.

By saying “Imamoglu met with this person, held a secret meeting with that person, etc.,” they think they will target and lynch everyone I have met. You will edit the footage, you will cut the beginning and the end just as you have done many times before, and you will try to deceive my innocent citizens by broadcasting it repeatedly on pro-government channels and TRT. Get out of here!

Whoever I have met with to this day, I have met for the benefit of Istanbul. I know you follow every step I take, you know every breath I take. I know that you have found nothing against me. 

Thousands of inspectors, prosecutors, investigations, examinations, wiretaps, recordings, surveillance, etc., all turned out to be empty. 

Montage is the work you know best, it is your area of expertise; this nation has already seen this movie. 

I have never had a life full of secrets like yours. You have been very uncomfortable with this as well.
