In the Derince district of Kocaeli, the act of CHP youth members sticking labels bearing the name of Ekrem İmamoğlu has angered AKP Derince District Chair Mustafa Tırpan.

In a statement made via social media, Tırpan characterized this action as an "organized crime" and warned the youth that they could face legal consequences.

Tırpan threatened the youth by saying, "I was aware of every moment and every step, but I did not dwell on it much. Because what is being done is a crime, and there will be a legal price to pay." Furthermore, stating that the youth should focus on their education, he used the expression, "The state's eyes and ears are everywhere."

SHARP RESPONSE FROM CHP

A sharp response to Tırpan's statements came from CHP Youth Branches Vice President Özlem Ünal. Ünal stated that Tırpan threatened the youth by claiming they were being "deceived" and "used." Ünal said, "As soldiers of Turkey's most deep-rooted youth organizations, we are the conscience, hope, and resistance power of this country. We do not bow down to injustice and lawlessness, and we will not."

Criticizing Tırpan for mentioning legal sanctions, Ünal stated, "For you, as a representative of a mentality that detains, arrests, profiles, and threatens youth, to say 'we want what is best for you' is, in the true sense of the word, hypocrisy." The CHP youth emphasized that even if the stickers are removed, they will put them back up and continue their struggle.
