Journalist Fatih Altaylı was detained last night on charges of 'threatening the President'. After his procedures at the police station, Altaylı was referred to the duty court, arrested, and sent to Marmara Prison.
A mindset that fears its political rival, a lawyer's defense, a journalist, a young person, a voice, a word, and even a painting cannot govern a country. The great Republic of Turkey can no longer be entrusted to a government that has surrendered to this much fear.

While all the stones in the region are being displaced...
Sharing a post on his social media account regarding Altaylı's arrest, detained Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Mayor and CHP presidential candidate Ekrem İmamoğlu stated the following:
"A mindset that fears its political rival, a lawyer's defense, a journalist, a young person, a voice, a word, and even a painting cannot govern a country. The great Republic of Turkey can no longer be entrusted to a government that has surrendered to this much fear.
While developments that will displace all the stones in the region are taking place, and while we are in the midst of the most important turning points in history, you still cannot govern this country with the law of the enemy.
The arrest of journalist Fatih Altaylı is another manifestation of this feeling of fear. Every unlawful step you take is an attempt to suppress the nation. But this noble nation has already made its decision and has announced to the whole world that it will not bow down."
