Imamoglu reacts to the arrest of Cankaya Mayor Hüseyin Can Güner: 'I condemn this treatment'

CHP's presidential candidate and Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu has reacted to the arrest of Cankaya Mayor Hüseyin Can Güner.

In a statement shared by the Presidential Candidate Office account, Imamoglu criticized the operation targeting Ankara and Cankaya, stating: "Conducting an operation against Ankara, the heart of the capital Cankaya, and arresting its mayor is the final stage of the March 19 and May 21 coup, and the 'octopus arms' mechanism created through lawlessness." he said.

In his statement, Imamoglu "I condemn this treatment of my dear brother, Mayor Hüseyin Can Güner" he added.

Emphasizing that "trial without detention is a right," Imamoglu highlighted that operations conducted based on secret witness testimonies and "a system of slanderers"damage the judicial order.


Imamoglu's statement is as follows:

"Conducting an operation against Ankara,
