İmamoğlu reacts to Yeni Şafak's 'Kılıçdaroğlu' report: 'It is not a newspaper I take as a reference'
The newspaper Yeni Şafak, known for its proximity to the government, claimed that former CHP Chairman Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu said, "Do not lose the CHP to İmamoğlu, resist, he wants to turn the party into ANAP." Reacting to the report, Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu stated, "These are baseless, source-less reports without cited sources. They cannot spoil our relationship with these reports."

Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu visited the İncirli plot of the İş Bank Employees Site, which was demolished as part of KİPTAŞ's Urban Transformation Project.
Answering journalists' questions there, İmamoğlu reacted to the report by the pro-government newspaper Yeni Şafak regarding Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu.
YENİ ŞAFAK: KILIÇDAROĞLU SAID, 'DO NOT LOSE THE CHP TO İMAMOĞLU'
In the report in question, Yeni Şafak claimed that "names who entered the Party Assembly from Oğuz Kaan Salıcı's list met with Kılıçdaroğlu and that Kılıçdaroğlu told these names, 'Do not lose the CHP to İmamoğlu, resist, he wants to turn the party into ANAP'."
"IT IS NOT A NEWSPAPER I TAKE AS A REFERENCE"
When asked about the report, İmamoğlu stated, "I saw the newspaper clipping in the press summary whether I wanted to or not. First of all, it is not a newspaper I take as a reference. Why can it not be taken as a reference? Think about it, can you imagine our former chairman, who described our relationship as father-son, who invited me by proposing me as the congress chairman at the most historic and important congress of the CHP, saying such a thing? I don't even see it as possible."
"THEY CANNOT SPOIL OUR RELATIONSHIP WITH THESE REPORTS"
Calling them "baseless, source-less reports without cited sources," İmamoğlu concluded his words as follows;
"They cannot spoil our relationship with these reports. Furthermore, I have been a member of the CHP for 15 years, I have served as a district chairman, won a district mayoral election, and won the IMM election twice; it might sound a bit arrogant, but I am a member who has never lost an election. No one can open my CHP membership to debate."
