İmamoğlu speaks at the final meeting of the IMM Assembly: 'I ask for your blessing'
Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu spoke at the final meeting ceremony of the 8th Term Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Assembly.
Speaking at the final meeting ceremony of the 8th Term Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Assembly, IMM Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu said, "I personally ask for the blessing of all my fellow council members."
İmamoğlu stated the following at the ceremony:
"Some of us may perhaps be in these seats in the new term. Some of us are candidates for different journeys, different positions. Perhaps such a process will be our fate. I wish for the upcoming period to be, above all, for the best for every council member who has served under the roof of this assembly. We are closing a long term, with its ups and downs, by getting angry at each other, criticizing, teasing, and with both the sweet and the sour."
"WE PREPARED A TERM BOOK"
We have prepared a very meticulous term book to serve as a beautiful memento of this period. Its design is currently nearing completion, and this term book will be delivered to you individually in the coming days so that it can sit on your bookshelf or desk as a souvenir, a way to remember who was here during this term. I hope you will not neglect to look at it from time to time and reminisce.
"I THANK YOU FOR THE EFFORTS MADE"
Stating that the meeting was special from an emotional perspective, İmamoğlu said, “I hope that this beautiful atmosphere will permeate the assembly work of the upcoming term, leaving behind even better and stronger memories. I thank you all from the bottom of my heart and very sincerely for all your work, efforts, contributions, criticisms, suggestions, and for your interest and concern for the process, and for providing an environment of cooperation for being an Istanbulite and serving Istanbul.”
"I ASK FOR YOUR BLESSING"
Asking for the blessing of the council members, İmamoğlu concluded his speech as follows:
“On this first day of the blessed month of Ramadan, at such a moment of gathering, I personally ask for the blessing of all my fellow council members. If there is any right of yours that has passed to me, I would like to say ‘it is forgiven’ on behalf of all my fellow council members, on behalf of all my fellow citizens under this roof, and on my own behalf. Wishing you all a blessed Ramadan, I bid you farewell to a beautiful future with health, hope, and all my best wishes.”
Following his speech, İmamoğlu took a commemorative photo with the municipal council members.
