Republican People's Party (CHP) presidential candidate and Mayor of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Ekrem İmamoğlu issued a statement regarding the illegal betting investigation from Silivri Prison. Criticizing the current government's stance, İmamoğlu stated that the public sees through these games.

In a message shared from İmamoğlu's Presidential Candidate Office account on the X platform, the phrase "You have become accustomed to being deceived, but you will not be able to deceive the nation!" drew attention. İmamoğlu emphasized that the government is trying to mislead the public with confessions of decay and false promises that have been on its agenda.

Touching upon illegal betting gangs and money laundering operations, İmamoğlu said, "It seems that the prosecutors have now 'felt like taking action'!" emphasizing that such attempts are noticed by the public. Furthermore, addressing economic issues, he stated, "They say inflation is falling, but the fire in the nation's pockets is growing!"

"You have become accustomed to being deceived, but you will not be able to deceive the nation!

These days, the government's agenda is filled with historic confessions of decay, false promises, and fiasco campaigns.

They are acting as if the government in Turkey has changed, the rule of law has returned, and those who have been committing crimes for years are being cleaned up.

Illegal betting gangs, referees who gamble, money laundering operations, the firing of pro-government media bosses...

It seems that the prosecutors have now 'felt like taking action'!

But the nation sees this game. No one can be fooled by false promises and fake success stories! They say they have found natural gas everywhere, but they go and buy the most expensive American gas. They say inflation is falling, but the fire in the nation's pockets is growing!

You will not be able to deceive football fans, the working class, the poor, or the youth!

You will not be able to silence this nation with espionage slanders that remind one of bad movie scripts!

This nation distinguishes between patriots and those who love their positions. And when the day comes, it will put an end to this broken system at the ballot box!"
