IMM Presidency duties delegated to Nuri Aslan
Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu has appointed CHP Municipal Council Member Nuri Aslan as acting IMM Mayor through a written letter of proxy. İmamoğlu announced that Aslan would take on the role to ensure that municipal operations do not face disruptions due to the ongoing investigation process.

The "proxy" letter, prepared by hand by IMM Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu yesterday, was submitted to the IMM Private Secretary's Office.
TO WHOM WAS THE IMM PRESIDENCY DELEGATED?
In his letter, İmamoğlu stated, "Due to the investigation conducted by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, the duties of the acting IMM Mayor will be carried out by IMM Council Member Nuri Aslan during this process to ensure that Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality operations are not disrupted."
Following this letter, an official notification was sent by Nurten Uğursoy, Head of the IMM Department of Writing Affairs and Decisions, to the Istanbul Governorship, Nuri Aslan, and the distribution points consisting of Plan A+B and Plan C+D+E.
The letter included the following statement: "The relevant letter sent by our Istanbul Metropolitan Mayor, Mr. Ekrem İmamoğlu, stating that the duties of the acting Istanbul Metropolitan Mayor will be carried out by Council Member Mr. Nuri Aslan during this period to ensure that Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality operations are not disrupted due to the investigation conducted by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, is presented in the attachment."
WHO IS NURİ ASLAN, WHERE IS HE FROM, HOW OLD IS HE, AND WHAT DOES HE DO?
Many citizens are curious about the life and identity of Nuri Aslan, the IMM Council Deputy Speaker who was appointed as acting IMM Mayor through the written letter of proxy prepared by Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu.
WHO IS IMM COUNCIL DEPUTY SPEAKER NURİ ASLAN?
Nuri Aslan was born in Sivas in 1969. After completing his primary and secondary education in Istanbul, Aslan finished his university studies in 1990 at the Department of Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, Yıldız Technical University.
Nuri Aslan began his professional career in 1991, joining a private company where he still serves in the general management.
NURİ ASLAN'S POLITICAL LIFE
Nuri Aslan took his first steps into politics as a Küçükçekmece Municipal Council Member between 1999 and 2004. Subsequently, he served as the Deputy Chairman of the Kızılay (Turkish Red Crescent) Küçükçekmece branch from 2009 to 2017.
In 2014, he served as a Board Member of the Istanbul Industrialists and Business People Federation (İSİFED), and in 2018, he served as the Chairman of the Board of the Beylikdüzü Industrialists and Business People Association (BEYSİAD). He also currently serves as the Deputy Chairman of the Sivas Koyulhisar and Villages Service Foundation (KODAV).
In the March 31, 2024 local elections, he was elected as the IMM Council Deputy Speaker from the Republican People's Party (CHP) and continues his work actively. Nuri Aslan is married and a father of 3 children.
