REFERENCE TO THE 'OPENING'
İmamoğlu stated the following:
"My duty begins with the approval of the people and ends with the approval of the people. The mind that does not respect this constantly gets slapped by democracy but never seems to come to its senses.
The same mind that initiated an opening from İmralı to the TBMM 10 days ago is now detaining a CHP mayor today. This person is a scholar. A citizen of ours who has been a professor at the universities of this country and has served in various roles, working in different universities from Van to Hakkari, Ankara to Mersin, is being detained.
We are tired of the cunning of this government. Everyone knows that it is shameful to take someone from their home at six in the morning in this manner. No! They will create a perception...
'IT IS TIME FOR THIS MIND TO RELINQUISH POWER'
It is time for the mind that uses the judiciary to adjust politics to relinquish power in this country.
Do you know who does this? Only a mind that has distanced itself from the nation does this, because that mind thinks the nation is wealthy, but the nation has become impoverished. They are conducting such perception operations to make people forget about poverty and destitution.
101 years ago, Atatürk said, 'I promise equality, justice, and democracy.' You, however, are trying to eliminate equality, justice, and democracy 101 years later."
