Beykoz Mayor Alaattin Köseler, who has been removed from his post and is currently imprisoned in Silivri Prison, has issued a call to the municipal officials who resigned from their party. Köseler requested that those who resigned from the CHP also step down from their duties out of responsibility toward Beykoz and the people of Beykoz.
“THEY CANNOT INTERNALIZE THE SPIRIT OF BEING FROM BEYKOZ”
In his statement, Köseler expressed the following:
“Anyone who does not breathe the air of Beykoz, step on its soil, or drink its water cannot internalize the spirit of being from Beykoz and cannot act with a consciousness of being from Beykoz. For this reason, I expect the deputy mayor and council members who resigned from the CHP to also resign from their municipal council memberships with a sense of responsibility toward Beykoz and the people of Beykoz.”
RESIGNATIONS IN BEYKOZ STIR UP POLITICS
Özlem Vural Gürzel, who was elected as Deputy Mayor following Köseler's imprisonment, resigned from the CHP in recent days. In her statement, Gürzel claimed that she did not receive support from the CHP, whereas she found more support from the AKP and MHP. Along with Gürzel, three other CHP council members also left the party.
