Beylikdüzü Mayor Mehmet Murat Çalık, who was arrested as part of an investigation into the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality and transferred from Marmara Prison in Silivri, Istanbul, to Buca Prison in İzmir, has been taken to the hospital for health checks.

Following a request for his release on the grounds that his vital risk has increased under prison conditions—given that he has previously undergone cancer treatment twice and has lost 15 kilograms recently—Çalık was taken to the İzmir Kâtip Çelebi University Atatürk Training and Research Hospital, where necessary examinations and tests were conducted.

It has been learned that after being returned to prison, the prosecutor's office will decide whether or not to release him based on the upcoming Medical Board Report.
