According to the report by Evren Demirdaş from Artı Gerçek, Mazgirt Mayor Ümit Tayhava (CHP) stated that invoices were issued with exorbitant prices for expenditures in the previous term at the district municipality, saying, "Our municipality currently has a debt of 45 million 534 thousand liras, excluding enforcement proceedings. We have no information regarding the enforcement proceedings; we have a serious debt, and we are thinking about how we will overcome these debts. During the term of the mayor before us, purchases were made with absurd, exorbitant prices. There is 1 million 300 thousand liras that comes from the Iller Bank every 6 months for support purposes. After we won the elections, a portion of this money that came to the municipality was distributed to personnel salaries and other debts," he said.

Stating that there is no information regarding the materials purchased and that there are only invoices, Tayhava said, "Currently, we have 390 thousand liras in our treasury, with 200 thousand liras within the municipality and 190 thousand liras in our affiliated company. The situation of the municipality is difficult; expenses were shown and invoices were issued like a grocery ledger. While the total cost of materials purchased for the municipality, such as work gloves, pipes, and tea pots, was a nominal price of 18 thousand liras, an invoice of 333 thousand liras was issued for these purchases. We may experience economic problems after this month; the incoming money seems to be just enough to cover personnel salaries," he stated.
