It is indicated that the Saadet Party and the New Welfare Party are open to a possible alliance with the IYI Party. YRP Chairman Fatih Erbakan pointed to past examples, recalling the alliance formed in 1991 between the Welfare Party, the Nationalist Work Party, and the Reformist Democracy Party, and assessed that “A National View-IYI Party alliance could happen.”
According to a report by Cumhuriyet, Saadet Party Chairman Mahmut Arıkan stated that the discussions will continue and that more concrete topics will be addressed in upcoming meetings. IYI Party Chairman Müsavat Dervişoğlu, regarding the process, used the expression, “I will light a torch of unity to get center-right politics back on its feet.” In addition to contacts at the leadership level, it is known that officials from the two parties are also holding meetings at the provincial presidency level.
