Interesting assessment from Barış Yarkadaş regarding Akşener's visit to Erdoğan

tv100.com columnist Barış Yarkadaş stated that former İYİ Party Chair Meral Akşener aims to become the new Tansu Çiller.

Yarkadaş expressed that Akşener had considered being among the founders of the AKP in 2001, but that Aydın Doğan dissuaded her by saying, "My dear, don't go to the AK Party, nothing will come of it."

As a guest on the Taksim Meydanı program, Yarkadaş noted that Akşener was not a figure distant from the AKP, stating, "In 2001, Akşener was about to join the founders of the AK Party. When Aydın Doğan called her and said, 'My dear, don't go to the AK Party, nothing will come of it,' Akşener stepped away from the AK Party."

"EKMELEDDİN İHSANOĞLU IS AYDIN DOĞAN'S CANDIDATE"

Regarding Ekmeleddin İhsanoğlu, who was nominated as a joint presidential candidate by the Republican People's Party (CHP) and the Nationalist Movement Party (MHP) in 2014, Yarkadaş said, "İhsanoğlu is Aydın Doğan's candidate.

During Doğan's Hajj pilgrimage, İhsanoğlu was the Secretary-General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation. İhsanoğlu provided VIP service to Doğan. Later, Doğan had a huge book printed for İhsanoğlu.

Then İhsanoğlu told Doğan he wanted to be a presidential candidate. Doğan established contact with the MHP and CHP. Kemal Derviş and Memduh Hacıoğlu also mentioned the name İhsanoğlu to Kılıçdaroğlu in Gümüşsuyu.

Kılıçdaroğlu wanted to give the first spot in Istanbul to İhsanoğlu after the election, but İhsanoğlu preferred to become a member of parliament from the MHP," he stated.

"AKŞENER AIMS TO OPEN A POLITICAL SPACE FOR HERSELF FROM ERDOĞAN"

Evaluating Akşener's political stance, Yarkadaş remarked, "What is Akşener playing for? She is playing to be the new Tansu Çiller. Because Çiller no longer has political relevance, but a symbol is needed. As I understand it, Akşener is aiming to open a political space for herself from Erdoğan, wondering if she can make a comeback."

"İYİ PARTY MEMBERS DO NOT FIND IT RIGHT"

Regarding the meeting between Akşener and President Erdoğan, Yarkadaş, who spoke with İYİ Party members, said, "I called İYİ Party members today. Since Dervişoğlu warned party members by saying, 'Do not make assessments before I speak,' no İYİ Party official could give a statement under their own name.

I received a statement from Vedat Bayramoğlu, a member of the Founders' Board who resigned. The İYİ Party members I spoke with do not find this visit by Akşener to be right.

They said that this meeting would cast suspicion on the İYİ Party and harm the party. Important party officials think that the İYİ Party base, which is already in a difficult position, will shift entirely to the CHP," he said.
