Ten people have been detained as part of a 'corruption' operation conducted by the Antalya Chief Public Prosecutor's Office at the CHP-run Döşemealtı Municipality. It is alleged that irregularities occurred during the 'Galvanized Garbage Container Procurement' tender held by the municipality, resulting in a loss of public funds.
7 MILLION 153 THOUSAND TL PUBLIC LOSS
In the tender held by the Döşemealtı Municipality Cleaning Affairs Directorate in 2023, 'Galvanized Garbage Containers' were purchased for a total cost of 19 million 960 thousand TL. Following the tender, it was not verified whether the 2 thousand 800-liter garbage containers that were supposed to be delivered to the municipality complied with the specifications. Consequently, a report prepared by Ministry of Interior inspectors stated that a total of 7 million 153 thousand TL in public loss occurred due to the aforementioned irregularities.
IRREGULARITIES IN THE TENDER
The firm named Ak Konteyner İmalat Sanayi ve Ticaret Ltd. Şti. had been selected for the tender. However, it is alleged that there were certain irregularities in the tender and that the procurement did not comply with the conditions. Following these allegations, the Antalya Chief Public Prosecutor's Office launched an investigation and detained 10 people who were responsible during the tender process. The processing of the suspects at the police station is ongoing.
