The claim that İzmir Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Cemil Tugay, who resigned from the CHP, will join the AKP has returned to the agenda. Journalist İsmail Saymaz claimed in a post on his social media account that Tugay will go to the AKP Headquarters on Wednesday, October 7.
According to Saymaz's post, Tugay will be at the AKP Headquarters at 11:30 AM. The post stated that the party badge will be pinned on Tugay by President and AKP Chairman Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.

Tugay's response to a user's question on his Instagram account regarding municipal employees was also interpreted within the context of the transition claims. Tugay had said, "We have not done anything to anyone who is doing their job. From now on, nothing will happen to anyone who does their job."
