Claim from İsmail Saymaz regarding CHP and İYİ Party! 'Until the night before...'

Claiming that the CHP was expecting a gesture from the İYİ Party for the Balıkesir Metropolitan Municipality, İsmail Saymaz commented, "Are they too well-intentioned... Or are they more naive than they appear? I couldn't tell."

As the local elections approach, political parties continue to announce their mayoral candidates.

The İYİ Party, which decided to enter the local elections 'freely and independently' by rejecting the CHP's cooperation proposal, has officially announced its candidate for Balıkesir, as well as for Istanbul and Ankara.

Sözcü columnist İsmail Saymaz, who wrote about the İYİ Party nominating Turhan Çömez in Balıkesir, put forward a striking claim.

Saymaz suggested that the CHP Headquarters was expecting a gesture from the İYİ Party for Balıkesir.

"By nominating Çömez, who advocated for an alliance with the CHP, the İYİ Party has eased the hand of the AK Party. Çömez is a politician who can garner more votes from nationalist and social democratic voters than from AK Party supporters. What is lost is again from the opposition," said Saymaz, continuing as follows:

"By the way, I learned that the CHP Headquarters was expecting a gesture from the İYİ Party for Balıkesir until the night before. Are they too well-intentioned... Or are they more naive than they appear? I couldn't tell."
