It had been shelved, they brought that card back into play: A new move from the US in the Halkbank case

Republican People's Party (CHP) Deputy Chairman Deniz Yavuzyılmaz made comprehensive statements on social media regarding the US decision to grant a 90-day postponement in the Halkbank case.

Yavuzyılmaz stated that the US has introduced new conditions through Halkbank during this process and that cooperation with the Turkish government has been tied to these terms.

According to Yavuzyılmaz's post, it is indicated that there are heavy conditions facing the AKP regarding the 90-day suspension of the Halkbank case. Stating that "the US has brought the 'Halkbank case card' back into play," Yavuzyılmaz conveyed that the negotiations conducted with America include the following primary demands:

• Halkbank appointing an 'anti-money laundering and compliance expert' to maintain direct communication with the US,
• This expert having the authority to audit all of Halkbank's accounts and access any information and documents as needed,
• Refraining from dealings with the Iranian government and related individuals or entities,
• Reporting to American authorities if any request for a financial transaction originating from Iran is received,
• Halkbank completely relinquishing its rights over the assets of Reza Zarrab,
• Full cooperation in any potential US steps to freeze or seize assets.

90-DAY AUDIT REPORT AND POTENTIAL SCENARIOS

Yavuzyılmaz stated, "The expert will prepare a detailed report within 90 days. If the prepared report does not meet expectations or if a satisfactory explanation is not provided by the bank, the agreement will be considered void and the litigation process will resume."
