It has come to this! MHP's Yönter and Yalçın file criminal complaint against Sinan Ateş's mother and sister

MHP deputy chairmen İzzet Ulvi Yönter and Semih Yalçın have filed a criminal complaint against Sinan Ateş's mother, Saniye, and his sister, Selma Ateş. The reason cited for the complaint was "slander through statements consisting of abstract allegations."

MHP Chairman Devlet Bahçeli had targeted Sinan Ateş's wife, Ayşe Ateş, during the first group meeting of the new legislative year in the Turkish Grand National Assembly, stating without naming her, "Being a figurehead for political provocation would not befit a lady."   

MHP deputy chairmen İzzet Ulvi Yönter and Semih Yalçın, meanwhile, have filed a criminal complaint against Sinan Ateş's mother, Saniye Ateş, and his sister, Selma Ateş, who had repeatedly stated during the trial process that they themselves should also be included in the case file. 

The application by Yönter and Yalçın to the Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor's Office was announced on social media by lawyer Burak Bekiroğlu:

"According to information I have received, Nationalist Movement Party Deputy Chairmen Mr. İzzet Ulvi Yönter and Mr. Semih Yalçın have applied to the Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor's Office and filed a criminal complaint against Sinan Ateş's sister, Selma Ateş, and his mother, Saniye Ateş, for slandering them with statements consisting of abstract allegations."

MHP Deputy Chairman İzzet Ulvi Yönter also shared lawyer Bekiroğlu's message on his own social media account. 

MHP members Yönter and Yalçın had previously filed a criminal complaint against Sinan Ateş's wife, Ayşe Ateş, on the grounds of 'slander'.
