Continuing its local election efforts, the CHP has determined 242 mayoral candidates across 15 provinces.

The CHP has nominated actor Erdal Beşikçioğlu, who is remembered for his role as Behzat Ç., as its candidate for the Etimesgut district of Ankara.

It was alleged that Mansur Yavaş opposed Beşikçioğlu's candidacy and that he might withdraw from the race because of this. It was claimed that Yavaş wanted to nominate Mesut Özarslan, formerly of the İYİ Party, in the district.

ÖZEL'S STATEMENT ON YAVAŞ AND BEŞİKÇİOĞLU

Responding to questions from members of the press after the CHP Central Executive Board (MYK) meeting, CHP leader Özgür Özel had said, "When I shared this idea with Mr. Mansur, Mr. Mansur was quite pleased. I hope he is still pleased; there is nothing for him to object to. Perhaps there might be something else regarding Etimesgut. But it will also add strength to Mr. Mansur's power; we do not think there will be any problem there."

MANSUR YAVAŞ CLAIM FROM FATİH PORTAKAL

While CHP spokesperson Deniz Yücel denied the allegations and stated that there was no crisis, journalist Fatih Portakal put forward a notable claim.

Portakal stated the following:

"Let me provide some information I have obtained. The reason this former İYİ Party member was not accepted is as follows: He resigned from the İYİ Party and was to be nominated in Etimesgut, but after being elected, he could resign and return to the İYİ Party or switch to another party. An extreme crisis did not occur, but an incident that could be called a crisis did take place.

"IN EXCHANGE FOR ETİMESGUT..."

Mansur Yavaş wanted Mamak in exchange for Etimesgut and said, 'Let me determine the candidate.'"
