İYİ Party announces 6 more candidates; IMM candidate Buğra Kavuncu criticizes the opposition

As the local elections approach, political parties continue to announce their candidates. At a meeting held at the İYİ Party Istanbul Provincial Headquarters, the party announced 6 more district mayoral candidates. Speaking at the meeting, the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) mayoral candidate Buğra Kavuncu stated that they are being attacked by both the ruling party and the main opposition wing.

The İYİ Party, which has decided to enter the elections 'independently and freely', continues to announce its mayoral candidates. At the press conference held at the Istanbul Provincial Headquarters, the mayoral candidates for 6 districts were announced. The announced candidates are as follows:

Bağcılar: Eyüp Ali Özdemir

Başakşehir: Tevfik Atakan Şakar

Beylikdüzü: Erol Karapınar

Sancaktepe: Cemal Doğan

Sultanbeyli: Fatih Karakaş

Sultangazi: Hüseyin Ündeş

Following the announcement of the candidates, IMM mayoral candidate Buğra Kavuncu delivered a speech. Criticizing the CHP without naming them directly, Kavuncu said, "Just as the ruling party attacked us in the past whenever we made the slightest criticism, today the opposition party and its officials are showing the same kind of heavy aggression. The trolls of that well-known party are making very harsh criticisms."

Recalling President Erdoğan's phrase 'Those who are not on our side will be left aside', Kavuncu noted that this expression is now being used against them by the main opposition party, the CHP.

Emphasizing that most of the problems in Istanbul that they mention in their criticisms stem from the ruling party, Kavuncu added that a two-party system is being pushed, and that they are standing against it.

In his statement, Kavuncu said, "Those who do not want the freakish Presidential system are acting with the logic of a two-pole party structure."
