İYİ Party candidate Kavuncu reacts to Akşener's former advisor İde

Kavuncu reacted to Murat İde, the former advisor to İYİ Party Chair Meral Akşener, who composed a song for İmamoğlu's election campaign.

Kavuncu said the following about İde, who has been in the headlines with his statements:

"We are tired now. We are tired of saying 'do not mess with us.' Those who want to leave can leave. But after leaving, how has this feeling, this hatred, entered into these friends who want to cause so much harm to the colleagues they once walked the path with? How was this feeling instilled in them? I cannot understand this.

Songs are being composed. Music is being arranged. These are being gifted to the current mayor. While they are being gifted, those who composed the same song say; 'A group from the İYİ Party will make a statement sooner or later.' The İYİ Party members are here, friends. Look, I counted them one by one. Many more are here. We are currently in Bağcılar, we are opening an election coordination center with hundreds of our friends here."

REACTION TO İYİ PARTY MEMBERS SUPPORTING İMAMOĞLU

Kavuncu, who also criticized party members who decided to support İmamoğlu, stated that the İYİ Party's Metropolitan Mayoral candidate in Istanbul is clear, and continued as follows:

"And that is Buğra Kavuncu. The İYİ Party's mayoral candidate in Bağcılar is clear. And that is the very valuable Ali Özdemir. What kind of feeling is it to have your body here but your mind elsewhere, to have your body here but your soul elsewhere, and for what purpose, with what intent, to be in this party and support another candidate? What kind of reward did this follow? Why is it done? We leave this to the discretion of the public. These are grounds for expulsion. It is very clear in our bylaws and in the Law on Political Parties."

Stating that they did not force anyone to join the İYİ Party, Kavuncu said, "If there is any İYİ Party member who engages in such behavior and attitude, the application for this, and our bylaws, are very clear: expulsion. Because when a party puts forward a parliamentary candidate or a mayoral candidate, the party's organizations and those serving in the party are obliged to support their party's candidate."

Kavuncu noted the following:

"Very interesting things are happening. Friends who served as district chairs until the lists were submitted to the Supreme Election Council resigned on February 19, citing a decision made 3 months ago, and almost all of these friends are appearing as candidates for metropolitan or district municipal council members on the lists of another party. When I say this, they point to friends who are candidates from us but have previously been candidates for another party. Now, these friends also have a comprehension problem. That is, they have difficulties in comprehending the situation and understanding what is happening."
