The İYİ Party, which decided to enter the local elections "free and independent," did not achieve the result it expected on March 31.

In the İYİ Party, which fell to the position of the sixth party across Turkey, Chairperson Meral Akşener announced that they would go to a convention. The first person to announce their candidacy for the İYİ Party chairmanship was Founders' Board Member Günay Kodaz.

While all eyes in the İYİ Party are turned to the Extraordinary General Assembly on April 27, Meral Akşener announced that she would not be a candidate.

Following Akşener's announcement, while Mehmet Tolga Akalın, Koray Aydın, and Müsavat Dervişoğlu announced their candidacies, messages of support for Akşener also began to arrive.

İYİ Party Manisa Deputy Şenol Sunat shared a photo taken with Akşener on her X (Twitter) account, saying, "It won't work without you."
