New tax proposal from İYİ Party's Kaya: 'Implement a city tax for tourists'
İYİ Party Antalya Deputy Aykut Kaya brought the issue of a city tax to the agenda of the Turkish Grand National Assembly. Kaya stated that the city tax model, which is applied in many countries around the world and collected from domestic and foreign tourists staying in a city, should also be implemented in Turkey.

200 MILLION EURO REVENUE
Noting that the city tax could be 1 Euro, Deputy Kaya stated that if it were collected from the daily accommodation fee, a significant resource of approximately 200 million Euros per year could be generated for Antalya, and expressed that directing this revenue to the city's infrastructure and development projects would be a great opportunity for Antalya. Furthermore, Deputy Kaya pointed out that many hotel operators and chain markets operating in Antalya pay their taxes to other cities like Istanbul or Ankara because their tax registrations are there, despite benefiting from local municipal services, and described this situation as an injustice to Antalya.
Deputy Kaya demanded that the necessary regulations be made and steps be taken so that Antalya can receive the share it deserves. Emphasizing that Antalya could develop more fairly with the implementation of the city tax model, Kaya stated that this proposal would make significant contributions to Antalya's economic and social development.
