Political party group meetings are continuing as scheduled. İYİ Party leader Müsavat Dervişoğlu spoke at his party's group meeting.
Here are the highlights from Dervişoğlu's statements:
THEY ONLY EVER HAD THE POWER TO OPPRESS THE PEOPLE
Like every minister who came before him, 'Tax-o-matic' Mehmet also talked about austerity, but he set his sights on the resources of laborers, civil servants, and workers. He started with the water heaters used by our teachers. Then, he set his sights on everything, right down to the shuttle services for civil servants. But he never touched the extravagance of the palace. He didn't say, 'This palace consumes 120 minimum wages per hour, 2,880 minimum wages per day, 86,400 minimum wages per month, and 1 million 36 thousand minimum wages per year.' He didn't say, 'This palace has a handful of looters do a 3-lira job for 10 liras.' He never touched the banditry that provides guarantees for roads, bridges, tunnels, airports, and hospitals. He cut the shuttle services for workers, but he didn't come anywhere near the reign of official vehicles of the party-state. They only ever had the power to oppress the people.
ANYONE WHO SPEAKS OUT IS REFERRED TO THE COURTHOUSE UNDER POLICE ESCORT
The minimum wage increase has melted away. According to the Diyanet's fatwa, pensioners, minimum wage earners, and public officials have now entered the category of those eligible to receive fitra (charity). The Diyanet is busy legitimizing the mistakes of this government and continues to miss the real issue. In just the first month of 2025, which they declared the 'Year of the Family,' the number of divorces has exceeded 187 thousand. Economic collapse and social collapse are walking hand in hand, gnawing away at Turkey. What we see and hear on social media and television shows that nothing remains in the name of morality. What did the late President Demirel say? 'Inflation first corrupts morality.' This is the point to which a morally bankrupt and incompetent government has brought our country. In terms of active and healthy aging, the elderly are just trying to survive. Our children, whose futures have already been mortgaged, go to bed hungry and go to school hungry. Refugees are not returning to their homelands. Any industrialist, journalist, intellectual, artist, astrologer, or farmer who does not bury their head in the sand and speaks out is referred to the courthouse under police escort.
MINIMUM WAGE EARNERS HAVE BECOME DEPENDENT ON CHARITY
The crisis continues to persist. The minimum wage increase has melted away. Minimum wage earners have entered the list of those eligible to receive fitra. In 2025, which they declared the 'Year of the Family,' divorce rates have exceeded 187 thousand. What did the late Demirel say? 'Inflation first corrupts morality.' We are experiencing exactly that, as we see on social media right now.
'LOOK IN THE MIRROR'
Erdoğan and his cronies should now hold a mirror up to themselves. They should share what they see with this nation. You have condemned my nation to live below the hunger threshold. Does your conscience not ache at all? Look in the mirror and take a look at the situation we have fallen into. Face yourselves and perform this act of introspection...
They even investigate the primary school report cards of those who don't suit their interests. It is a fact that certain groups, who are in the minority in the judiciary but hold critical positions, use their powers like a weapon. Furthermore, behind this symphony of impudence, they organize meetings and circulate vehicles claiming 'a fairer world is possible' through the Directorate of Communications. If you ask them, they claim to defend the rights of the oppressed, but they remain silent about the crazy project Trump will carry out in Gaza. Have you heard a single sentence starting with 'Hey Trump' from Erdoğan, who talks a big game when it comes to rhetoric? They say a fair world is possible, but they throw anyone who wants a fair Turkey into prison.
While real criminals walk the streets freely, they work desperately to send anyone who raises their head to Silivri. Their goal, as an extension of the politics of fear, is to release murderers, rapists, perverts, fraudsters, and gang members onto the streets. So, how did we get from an independent Turkish judiciary to palace-appointed judges? It didn't happen in a single move. This order, which we call Erdoğan politics, was woven stitch by stitch.
The most important feature of this government is its deviousness. We will put a stop to this bad course of events. This path points to a journey that the Turkish nation does not deserve.
If you ask the government or its mouthpieces, none of the problems we mentioned are being experienced in Turkey. For them, everything is rosy. Those whose every action is a lie and every action is wrong turn demagoguery into a screensaver, just as it is with this government today.
