Speaking at his party's Eskişehir Provincial Congress, İYİ Party Chairman Müsavat Dervişoğlu targeted the successive operations against the CHP, stating that Turkey's agenda is not functioning in a healthy manner. Dervişoğlu expressed that these operations prevent the discussion of many important issues.
"TURKEY'S ISSUES ARE OFF THE TABLE"
"This is an important problem, but Turkey has many other important problems," Dervişoğlu said, emphasizing that the operations and legal interventions against the CHP overshadow the real issues on the country's agenda. He criticized the situation the country has fallen into with the words, "Turn on your televisions and look; we are dealing with lawsuits, courts, nullities, trustees, gangs, seizures of property, and seizures of title deeds."
"ISSUES LEFT OFF THE AGENDA"
Stating that many of the country's problems are not being brought to the agenda, Dervişoğlu expressed that it is impossible to focus on many critical issues in Turkey due to the law being used as a tool. For this reason, he pointed out that it has become difficult to hold discussions regarding the fundamental problems of society.
"CULTURAL EROSION" CRITICISM
The İYİ Party leader also touched upon the cultural erosion experienced in Turkey in recent years. Holding the AKP, which has been in power for 23 years, and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan responsible, Dervişoğlu said, "The AKP and President Erdoğan, who have been in power for 23 years, have caused serious damage to the country's cultural values." Dervişoğlu also criticized the government's economic policies, stating that this situation has negatively affected the social structure.
ASSESSMENT ON THE EUROFIGHTER JET DEAL
Dervişoğlu also voiced his criticisms regarding the Eurofighter jet deal made with the UK. Stating that the deal for 20 jets is approximately 235 million pounds more expensive than the price the Germans received, he said, "The Turkish lira equivalent of the money that will come out of the pockets of this poor nation is 263 billion. Are we not going to ask whose pocket this money is going into?"
